Serving Our Holmdel, NJ Community

At Bayshore Veterinary Hospital, caring for pets and people goes hand-in-hand. Our commitment to community runs deep, and one of the ways we give back is by creating opportunities for local students to learn, grow, and pursue their passion for animal care. From structured training experiences to internships that pave the way for veterinary careers, we are proud to play a part in shaping the future.

Holmdel High School Structured Learning Experience Program

Since 2022, Bayshore Veterinary Hospital has proudly partnered with Holmdel High School as part of the New Jersey Structured Learning Experience (SLE) Program. This program allows us to provide hands-on training that aligns with educational objectives while giving students meaningful, real-world experience in a veterinary setting.

One of the aspects closest to our hearts is our involvement with Special Education students in their post-senior years, who continue with the program until the age of 21. Recently, one of our student trainees reached that milestone, and we were thrilled to offer her a permanent position at our animal hospital. She has officially joined our team! Watching her grow in both skill and confidence has been one of the most rewarding experiences we’ve shared as a team, and we look forward to continuing to support this incredible program.

High School Internship Opportunities

In addition to the SLE program, Bayshore Veterinary Hospital has partnered with several local high schools to provide internship opportunities for seniors interested in veterinary medicine. These internships are designed in alignment with school requirements, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive experience while earning credit toward graduation.

During their time with us, interns gain firsthand exposure to the daily operations of a veterinary hospital, an invaluable step for those preparing college applications or planning a career in the field. Many participants even return during their college breaks as paid interns, deepening their skills while earning experience that strengthens future veterinary school applications.

Investing in the Future

We believe that supporting young people on their educational journeys benefits the entire community. Whether it’s giving students a chance to explore their interests, helping them build professional confidence, or inspiring future veterinarians, we are honored to play a role in their growth.
